This Sunday happens to be a time of relaxation for my family. Amidst a sunny weather, my family went to Giant Superstore, a retailing supermarket that caters to the average family. Now, Giant Food Store is a special supermarket in Singapore, because the ambience of the place feels like a classy American convenience store, and the pace seems slow and easy. Food selection is very vast, therefore time investment in Giant is wise and efficient. This sojourn is special in the sense that my father and mother are with me, and they are together, with a casual note of family care.
Well, after a choicy selection of a myriad of food, I feel that a trip to the gym is in good order. My father is especially pleased with me for this suggestion, and I am happy to receive an approval from my parents, that they will support me for my exercise. The car ride is smooth, with my calm father driving, and when we arrived in Orchard, I decided to go to the gym, and my parents had a good time together, shopping for daily essentials, while I had a good time for exercise. I did worked my body muscle mass, and there was an exertion of energy, to come to a positive result that the body requires. I was kindly amazed by the courtesy of a trainer, who came to me by good will, and taught me to use the training equipment, and to this, I have my gratitude to God. I finished my exercise in due timing, and a fine call to my parents is a relief for a happy reunion. I had a simple green tea drink before I left Cheers, and waited at Cineleisure Carpark for my parents. In a good gesture, my father felt the joy of eating our favourite prata at Jalan Kayu, and a short excursion to the destination is a well-enjoyed moment, for my mother open up a new and convenient route that is efficient for time and fuel economy. I felt the gist of happiness, for a good outing, that is rarely in my cards, due to my father being mostly overseas. In the car, the song, "Top of the World" by the Carpenters, are played, and I am in mild pleasantry, for the soothing and familiar tune that lit my heart to a time of peace. I realised just today what the lyrics meant, that "That I am on top of the world, looking down on creation", and to the humble and wise man, this is like an overjoyed father loving the birth of his baby. Hereby on this nostalgic instance, I glanced a musing look at my father while he is driving. Life is full of events, and I guess the people are the most important to us, whatever the circumstances may be.
